District Assembly Holds 2027 Budget Hearing; Budget Department Leads Presentations

The Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Assembly has held a departmental budget hearing for the 2027 fiscal year, with the Budget Department leading presentations before the District Coordinating Director (DCD), who chaired the session.

The hearing brought together all departments of the Assembly, each presenting its budget proposals, projections, and priorities for 2027. The Budget Department opened the proceedings, laying out the overall fiscal framework, revenue projections, and expenditure ceilings within which the other departments were expected to align their estimates.

Departmental heads took turns to justify their budget proposals, outlining planned activities, staffing needs, and capital requirements for the coming year. The DCD, who chaired the hearing, scrutinised each presentation, seeking clarification on cost drivers and the alignment of departmental plans with the Assembly's Medium-Term Development Plan.

The Budget Department's leadership of the exercise reflects its mandate to coordinate the preparation of the Assembly's composite budget and ensure that departmental estimates conform to national budget guidelines and available resource envelopes.

The 2027 budget hearing comes as the Assembly prepares to finalise its composite budget for submission to the Regional Coordinating Council. The DCD is expected to issue final directives on adjustments to departmental ceilings before the budget is laid before the General Assembly for approval.

Details of the specific allocations proposed by each department were not immediately available. The Assembly is expected to publish its approved 2027 budget in due course.
