AJUMAKO-ENYAN-ESSIAM DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS MAIDEN MEETING OF SECOND SESSION
The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly successfully convened its First Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Assembly on Thursday, 11th September 2025. The meeting, held at the District Assembly Hall, was attended by a full complement of members, reflecting a strong commitment to local governance and development.

The session commenced with a welcome address by the Honourable Presiding Member, Evans Ebenezer Mensah. In his welcome address, the Presiding Member underscored the importance of unity and collaborative effort among members to address the developmental needs of the district. He urged all members to actively participate in the deliberations for the benefit of their constituents.

The highlight of the meeting was the comprehensive Sessional Address delivered by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Andrew Kojo Doodo. In his address, the Hon. DCE provided a detailed account of the Assembly’s performance over the past year,

highlighting key achievements in areas such as security, revenue generation, health and sanitation, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and social services. He outlined the government’s policies and their implementation within the district and presented an ambitious agenda for the upcoming session, focusing on continued development, revenue mobilization, and improving the welfare of all residents. A vibrant and constructive discussion followed his presentation, with Assembly Members engaging with the address and seeking clarifications on various projects and initiatives.

A major feature of the meeting was an insightful presentation by the District Environmental Health Officer on the “Critical Importance of Screening Food and Beverages Vendors.” The officer elaborated on the pressing need to ensure public health safety by regulating the activities of food handlers within the district. The presentation covered the risks of foodborne illnesses, the protocols for mandatory health screening, and the enforcement strategies to be employed. This topic sparked significant interest and a productive question-and-answer session, with members acknowledging the importance of the initiative for the well-being of the community.

The meeting was also graced by the presence of the Secretary to the Assembly, Mr. John Ankrah, all Assembly Members, and Heads of various Departments, Agencies, and Units, whose contributions enriched the discussions.
The Presiding Member, Hon. Evans Ebenezer Mensah, expressed his satisfaction with the productive nature of the deliberations and the high level of attendance. The meeting was thereafter adjourned with a closing prayer, marking a successful start to the new session.
