ANDREW KOJO DODOO CONFIRMED AS DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR AJUMAKO-ENYAN-ESSIAM
The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly has confirmed Mr. Andrew Kojo Dodoo as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) in a historic Special Meeting held at the District Assembly Hall on Wednesday, 16th April 2025.
The meeting, chaired by the Hon. Presiding Member, Evans Ebenezer Mensah, was attended by key dignitaries, including the Hon. Regional Minister, the Regional Coordinating Director, Regional Party Executives, the DCE of Assikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, and the former DCE of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Hon. Peter Light Koomson.
In his address, the Hon. Regional Minister commended the Assembly Members for their commitment to the district’s development. He urged unity and cooperation in supporting the new DCE in executing his mandate effectively.
The confirmation process, supervised by the District Electoral Commission, required Mr. Dodoo to secure at least two-thirds of the votes from Assembly Members present and voting. Out of 68 Assembly Members, 67 were present, and the nominee received an overwhelming 66 votes in favor, representing an approval rate of 98.5%.
Following his confirmation, Mr. Dodoo was sworn into office by Her Worship Alice Afia Yirenkyi, the District Magistrate, who administered the Oath of Office, Oath of Allegiance, and Oath of Secrecy.
In his acceptance speech, the newly confirmed DCE expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Republic, the Member of Parliament and Minister of Finance, the Constituency Chairman, and the Hon. Assembly Members for their trust and support.
He pledged to work in close collaboration with the Assembly Members and the staff of the Assembly to advance the development agenda of the District. He emphasized three key priorities: improving the welfare of Assembly Members, enhancing revenue generation, and driving the overall development of the District.
The event concluded on a high note, with attendees optimistic about the district’s future under the leadership of Mr. Andrew Kojo Dodoo.
